You not bad for having a craving but you do need to find out if it's something your body is short of, like a nutrient, or if it's something else that is causing it…
Generally four things cause cravings:
Did you know that your body contains 10x more bacteria cells than human cells, mind blowing really, we are more bacteria than human lol. There are some bacteria that we do need but when they get too many, and out of balance with the other bacteria, then they cause cravings. For instance an overgrowth of yeast, like Candida craves sugar and refined carbs. It will make its demands known to your brain via the vagus nerve.
Loric and capilic acid (in coconut oil) stop yeast overgrowth but it takes time, and you need to increase the other bacteria in your gut at the same time to bring the balance back.
We eat a lot of calories, but they are empty calories (refined carbs, sugar) not nutrient rich ones. Generally most people need more potassium and magnesium, so it’s a good idea to find foods that are rich in nutrients.
Eating with other people creates bonds and can enhance the goodness, but don’t eat as much as the person sitting next to you, rather eat until you are satisfied.
If you are upset about something, try going for a walk outside and get some head space, rather than eating the tub of ice-cream.
We are made to move, and I don’t mean doing cardio every day, I mean go for a walk, stretch, dance. Have more fun, enjoy being in your body.
Until next time…
