I think most of you would have heard about MCT oil or coconut oil being very good for you. The main reason people like MCT oil (made from coconut oil) is that it turns into ketones in your body with very little work from your liver. MCT oil is literally turned in to ketones in minutes.
Most of us would like our body's to be able to run on the resistance starch and ketones, as this seems to be the most healthiest and best for performance, but it is dependent on you as an individual (so please investigate what your body responds to).
What you may not know is that there are different MCT's:
C8 (Caprylic Acid) - converts to ketones in minutes
C6 (Caproic Acid) - converts to ketones the fastest (shorter molecule chain) but will probably give you "disaster pants" and a scratchy throat. Unfortunately it also tastes like goat.
C10 (Capric Acid) - takes longer than C6 or C8 to change into ketones
C12 (Lauric Acid) - not really an MCT oil, but it does have health benefits: its antimicrobial, just like coconut oil.
