Here is a quick one on fat burning that I learnt recently, and it makes sense. A friend of mine from Thailand said he never eats after 8:00pm at night. I thought fair enough but didn’t really think much about it. Then I heard a YouTube chat by Dave Scott, where he said the same thing but he explained why.


Dave Scott said to stop eating at 7:00pm at night and then allow 12hours or so before you eat again. While you are sleeping your body burns glycogen that is stored in your liver and it will access free fatty acids. If you have done a work out in the evening before going to bed, you will also be burning fat from that (post metabolic burn).

Using UCAN with protein as recovery or a last meal, will help with keeping your sugar levels, level and the protein will help with stopping you feeling hungry (satiety), so you will carry on burning fat long after training and going to sleep. Stay away from simple carbs though, they just turn into sugar and get stored.
