As this is my first blog, I thought I’d start off by introducing myself. Hi, my name is Wendy. These are my thoughts and tips while I travel on my UCAN journey.
I am a triathlete, I currently do the Half Ironman distance (hoping to do an Ironman soon lol). As you can imagine or if you are also a triathlete or athlete, there is tons of training involved, as well as recovery and rest, and fuelling.
I have chosen Generation UCAN as my fuel, for one very big reason: it’s healthier than anything else I have found on the market (I will go into this more in another blog), and it also makes sense.
One thing that you do need to know, to get the best results from UCAN is that you need to use it differently. UCAN is not like any other fuel.
To start with this felt a bit odd for me, and this took me a while to adjust and get used to. I was used to sipping on my previous fuels every 20 to 30 minutes.
With UCAN I have to plan ahead a bit, 1 scoop is 2 hours of energy, but I need to bear in mind that it takes about 30 minutes for the fuel to be digested and in my system ready for use. So if my training session is longer than 90 minutes I will need to refuel 30 minutes before my 90 minutes are up.
I have my first serving 30 minutes before I start my training session. I am then setup and ready to go. All my fuel is on board that I require for the next hour to 90 minutes of training. It definitely makes “packing” for a long ride easier and lighter.
I have been using UCAN since April 2015, and I am absolutely loving it.
Until next time…
